“You were born to heal, to grow, to be of service to yourself and community, to practice, to experiment, to create, to have space, to dream, and to connect.”

— Tricia Hersey

Hello! My name is Akirah Wyatt and I’d love to share a little more about myself with you.

Over a decade ago, I earned my Master’s Degree in Social Work and became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Much of my training took place at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic in Pittsburgh, and I’ve also had the privilege of working with survivors of domestic violence, unhoused communities, and adolescents. These experiences shaped my commitment to creating safe, compassionate spaces for people to heal.

Today, I specialize in supporting women in the perinatal period and parents navigating the grief and isolation of pregnancy and infant loss. I’m also in the final stages of completing my certification in perinatal mental health (PMH-C). Beyond perinatal care, I work with adults experiencing OCD and anxiety. In therapy, I often draw from evidence-based approaches such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Prolonged Exposure (PE), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Inference-Based CBT (I-CBT), tailoring treatment to each person’s unique needs.

At the heart of my work is a collaborative approach. Together, we’ll clarify your goals and build a path toward living in line with your deepest values. My hope is to provide a warm, supportive environment where you feel safe to explore, process, and grow. If this resonates with you, I’d be honored to walk alongside you. Let’s connect.
